Colonial IT, Founded by Entrepreneur; Robert Thacher

Williamsburg, VA - Robert Thacher, an entrepreneur with over fifteen
years of solid Information technology and wireless communications
experience, has launched Colonial IT, a new information technology
firm based in Southern Virginia. The company's core focus is providing
innovative, proven, reliable, and scalable solutions designed to
meet complex information systems challenges. Robert will oversee
the company's financial and operational areas of the company, as
well as the product development, technical operations and expansion
of the technology platform to meet escalating customer needs. His
core responsibilities include product engineering, network operations,
data center operations, IT and customer support.
Prior to joining Colonial IT, Robert served as CTO for Global Wireless
Data and President CIO for Karbon Systems, a nationwide distributor
of high end wireless devices and managed wireless services. Robert
was responsible for product strategy, project management and engineering
management for the company's software and sales teams nationwide.
Robert also executed a successful acquisition of Karbon Systems
in December 2006.
Before founding Karbon Systems, Robert served as the Director of
Professional Services for the WolfeTech Corporation, the first provider
of wireless Internet access solutions for two-way pagers and devices.
While at Wolfetech, Robert founded Wolfetech's Professional Services
division in 1999, which became WolfeTech's largest revenue generator.
Robert also co-managed the acquisition of InfoBeam, a competing
wireless Internet access solutions provider for two-way pagers and
managed a network-wide software application pre-load on the Skytel
and Weblink Wireless networks.
